Abstract

The 2nd Academic Conference of Dentistry at UNIESP (JOUNIESP) has established itself as a space of great academic, scientific, and professional relevance. Its central objective is to foster the exchange of knowledge, the dissemination of research, and the debate on key advances in Dentistry. Held on October 30, 2024, in person at the Central Building of Centro Universitário UNIESP, the conference brought together students and professionals in the field. Among the main topics discussed were the passion for endodontics, the use of laser in daily clinical practice, advances in orthognathic surgery, and guidance on opening the first dental clinic. These subjects, presented by renowned speakers, provided participants not only with scientific updates but also with motivation for professional and entrepreneurial development. Furthermore, the conference reaffirms the institution’s commitment to excellence in education and the promotion of science, consolidating itself as a privileged space for knowledge dissemination and the encouragement of evidence-based practice. In this regard, the event strengthened the pillars of the academic triad—teaching, research, and extension—offering students not only academic experience but also the opportunity to present their work through scientific initiation, fostering knowledge production and the spread of new ideas.
